The YNU Department of Physics was founded in 1997 to offer a top-quality interdisciplinary education in physics, and thus educate future leaders for various branches of scientific research, the industry, and business world. We provide a unique curriculum, covering broadly the different sub-fields of physics ranging from elementary particles to solid-state physics and materials science. We educate broadminded, responsible experts with a sound knowledge of fundamental sciences, equipped for analytical thinking and problem solving across the society. We foster an atmosphere of high ethics, openness, and equality to educate visionaries for our future society.

The Graduate School of Engineering was reorganized into the Graduate School of Engineering Science in April 2018 with the aim of fostering individuals who can act as leaders and fulfill global roles in creating products with high added value.
Our department broadens the perspectives of graduate students in the field of physics and promotes cutting-edge research based on our extensive research experience.
